A relatively small but diverse coral island, Niue and its clear and clean surrounding waters, bountiful wildlife, tropical climate, and supremely relaxed atmosphere can be found just a three-hour flight from New Zealand.

Matavai Resort is Niue's premier accommodation option. Situated in the magnificent natural surroundings of Niue, and designed to take full advantage of its unique environment, our resort blends into the breathtaking landscape of coral outcrops, coconut palms, rainforest, and tropical flowers. Perched over the Pacific Ocean, our cliff-top deck provides a vantage point from which to watch the resident turtles surface, spinner dolphins patrol, and (in season), humpback whales cruise right past the resort.

Matavai Resort has recently undergone a six million dollar refurbishment and expansion to bring it's exceptional facilities into line with the very best on offer in the Pacific region. Nearly complete, with only the replacement of our deck left to go, our newly-refurbished accommodation rooms blend contemporary comforts and luxury with a classic, timeless style.

Please note: Niue Island is currently in the process of changing it's banking system from Bank of the South Pacific to Kiwibank.
